Magic Mirror browser extension 0.0.5 is out. The headline is simple: the extension is now completely free.
What’s new
- Completely free — no license, no account: element, region, cross-page, multi-select and whole-page mirroring all work out of the box. No license key, no sign-up, and no macOS desktop app required.
- No more accidental closes: clicking the picture itself used to close a mirror, which made zooming, scrolling and drag-to-reorder frustrating. A mirror now closes only via the × that appears when you hover its top-right corner.
- Clearer whole-page mirroring errors: browser-protected pages (settings, extension and web-store pages) are declined with a plain-language explanation, and after the extension updates you’re told to refresh the page instead of being shown a raw error.
- Cleaner mirror window: tiles no longer carry a page-title header — just the pictures.
How to install / update
- Open the Chrome Web Store and search for Magic Mirror
- Click “Add to Chrome” — updates install automatically
- Click the toolbar icon, choose Smart select, Drag select or Whole page, and start mirroring
